Alexandre Baril é professor associado na Universidade de Ottawa. Seu trabalho está situado no cruzamento dos assuntos: gênero, queer, trans, estudos de necessidades especiais, estudos crip e estudos da loucura, gerontologia crítica e suicidologia crítica. Seu compromisso com a igualdade lhe garantiu prêmios por seu envolvimento com as comunidades queer, trans e de pessoas com deficiências (por exemplo o prêmio Canadian Disability Studies Association Tanis Doe Francophone Award; Equity, Diversity and Inclusion President’s Award da Universidade de Ottawa). É o autor de Undoing Suicidism: A Trans, Queer, Crip Approach to Rethinking (Assisted) Suicide (2023).
