Social IIP
The IIP understands the relevance of psychoanalysis in the urgencies of our time.
Social, ecological and humanitarian emergencies, to name just a few, are essential fields of action. To meet this ethical requirement, psychoanalysis and its community must reinvent themselves. It is necessary to face the challenge of offering analytical discourses to a population that does not know, or cannot address its suffering to a psychoanalyst.
It is understood that to the well-known precarious nature of the speaking subject, there are several others linked to exclusion, marginalization, collective disasters, regional conflicts, environmental crisis and tragedies. For different reasons, entire sectors of the population are distant from social and health institutions. Faced with this reality, the IIP has sought to create and experiment with action devices, guided by psychoanalysis, such as:
- Form and maintain research laboratories on the subject;
- Hold, annually, an international congress on the subject;
- Provide consultancy, guide and create specific training for any type of group that intends or already operates in the mentioned context.
